Infant
An academic program for students 2 to 15 months old.
The Infant prepared environment, or ‘Nido’ (the Italian word for nest), supports freedom and the natural development of movement, the development of sense of order and the development of language all within the context of a deep and loving connection. Your infant’s mind is sensitive and is developing rapidly. Infants are eager to make new discoveries each day! This once-in-a-lifetime process is supported with unconditional love in our Montessori infant program.
Peace of mind
At Spondeo Montessori your infant will be nurtured in a beautiful, safe, and clean environment. From rigorous background checks for teachers, to CPR/First Aid Training for all staff, to a comprehensive school emergency plan, rest assured that we have thought of every detail to protect your child’s well-being.

An environment optimized for your infant
Our infant classroom is carefully designed entirely around the needs of your child. A low rail anchored to the wall provides support as your child pulls up from the floor. Individual floor beds allow your child to choose to sleep when tired. Infant-size shelves display beautiful materials designed to stimulate your child’s senses. Teachers speak in gentle tones and the decor is understated and homelike. Your child will feel right at home in this made-to-suit environment.

Close communication with you
We celebrate the infant milestones and keep in close communication with you to ensure we are always doing what is best for your child’s development. Using an application called Transparent Classroom, you will see the daily tracking of your child’s routine: eating, sleeping, diapering, etc.

Well trained professionals
Spondeo’s Infant classroom is led by a trained lead guide. The training program is a thorough education in child development from birth to age three and prepares the teacher to create an optimal program for your child. More than just a job – our Montessori educators have a career of choice because of their love for infants, their interest in Montessori education, and their unwavering commitment to do what is best for children.

Adults: 1, Children: 3
Infants can never have too much love, care, and connection. To ensure your child receives personalized attention, our infant program provides one adult for every three children. Our student ratio is significantly lower than Arizona’s state mandated ratio of 5:1 in order to give each child the adequate attention they deserve.

Trust through consistency
Your infant is sensitive to change and routine, and we make every effort to ensure consistency to help your child feel safe and comfortable. Our program is offered on a five-day schedule only, so your infant will be with the same children and adults every day. Sleep and eating schedules are based on your child’s individual needs, which are carefully observed and documented for communication with you when you return.

Part of a larger educational community
Around 15 months, your child may be ready for greater challenges. Our school provides a continuum of Montessori education and when your child is developmentally ready, their transition to the Toddler program begins. Planned well in advance, this process is designed to make both you and your child comfortable. A meeting with the new teacher and brief classroom visits in advance of the move facilitate the transition.

“Selecting a school is a TOUGH decision and I am the first to admit how picky I am. Knowing that, I can't recommend this school enough. Our child has been at Spondeo for two years and the way they have thoughtfully fostered his growth and development makes me forever indebted to them.”
Meg M.
“Having Montessori experience in his background, my husband suggested that we look there and that is when I learned about Spondeo. Instantly I knew we'd found it. The school had an energy that was missing from the other places I had observed."
Lauren M.
“I have very high expectations after working in the field of childcare and Montessori and want the best for my daughter. When we toured Spondeo Montessori I knew it was the school for her and one I would feel safe sending her to."
