How do you discipline the students?
positive discipline technique
One of the main Montessori Method foundations is in the child’s ability to explore and learn within boundaries. Spondeo Preschool understands the critical position Early Childhood Educators have by laying the fundamental ground work for positive contributors to society. This includes, but is not limited to, providing structure and limits to social behavior, classroom rules and exhibiting appropriate actions. Basically, Spondeo Preschool teaches children how to respect themselves, respect others and the environment. This is a constant ongoing lesson, which only a truly dedicated teaching team can implement (parents and caregivers too!). Corporal punishment is illegal in a child care setting. Loss of privileges are implemented whether loss of using a toy, working with a friend or participating in a social setting. Children are sent to an area to be by themselves until they are ready to return and comply with the clearly stated expectations. This allows the child to control his/her actions (intrinsically), and thus reinforce and lay self-regulating behavior modification. Additional information may be found in Spondeo Preschool Parent Handbook. Courses on this technique are planned to be implemented for those seeking a clearer understanding of this practical and life lesson behavioral technique (trains children how to become responsible for their own actions).
